An Oncology Nurse Practitioner is a nurse who completes three additional years of training to become an Advanced Practice Nurse. Nurse Practitioners:

Are expert healthcare providers
* Care for patients during health and illness
* Have a master's degree in nursing
* Have advanced education and clinical training in oncology
* Practice under state regulations and laws

As a patient at Suburban Hematology Oncology Associates, PC you will see the nurse practitioner for routine chemotherapy appointments as well as for acute same day visits. She will assess your condition and work with your physician to complete your plan of care.

 

 


Theresa earned her nursing degree from the Deaconess College of Nursing. She attended Northern Illinois University and completed her Nurse Practitioner program in 2003. She was certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2004. Prior to her nurse practitioner training, Theresa worked in a community oncology practice for two years.

Theresa is married with a new baby son named Aiden. Her hobbies include running, hiking and roller blading.

 

 

 




Kelly received her undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Southern Indiana.  She received her MSN from the Medical College of Georgia as a family nurse practitioner.  She has worked in bone marrow transplant and as an infusion nurse at Suburban and Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute before returning to Suburban as a nurse practitioner.  She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as well as the Oncology Nursing Society. Kelly is married with one son.  Besides spending time with her family and friends, she enjoys scrapbooking, golf, and shopping.
